Steel toes, Loser E, and Presents?

Posted by razz05

Well, his toe is better.  It’s not 100% yet, but it’s not nearly as purple and swollen as it was the other day.  I DID talk him into getting steel toed boots (YAY!) finally.  We went to the store in search of them tonight and of course the ones he wanted, they didn’t have his size.  At least now I know which ones he wants, and will keep checking to see if they get them in.

Other news… my Grampa’s (78) situation is going to improve shortly (not physically).  To make a long story short… a cousin of mine has been living next door to him (grampa owns the house, and it’s a duplex).  Well, said cousin… Loser E, has lived there for 2 years and has not paid a single penny in rent.  My Grandfather only asks for $300 a month (just to cover the taxes and water/sewer bills), and he can’t even pay that.  Loser E has been stealing money from him and even talked him into co-signing 2 loans for him.  One of them was for $10,000, and the other was for $2,500.  Of course, Loser E hasn’t paid a single penny on those either, so my grampa has been paying them out of his “grocery” money each month.  Anyways, Loser E got served yesterday with eviction papers.  My mom legally owns the house at the moment, so she paid for the lawyers to get him evicted.  I highly doubt he’ll leave without a fight, but he has NO ground to stand on to be able to stay there.

On the last note, I still haven’t gotten K anything for his Birthday on Sunday.  He looked thru a tool catalog and for the first time ever… could NOT find a single thing under $100 that he “really” needed.  I’m super surprised that he couldn’t find anything, and the hunt continues.  He DID ask me if I would make a cake instead of buy him one, which surprised me even more.  He never said the cakes I’ve made were really good, so I just assumed he didn’t like them, but I guess he likes them better than store bought… YAY ME! LOL

Swollen purple… WHAT?

Well, the sleepover went great. My kids didn’t go to sleep very well but my neice and nephew did fine. Of course, mine were the FIRST to wake up this morning as well (L slept from about 11pm til 6:30am and S slept from about 9:45pm til 7:15). Both of them need WAY more sleep than that, but I guess that’s what a sleepover is for LOL.

Day 2 of K’s job didn’t go so well :( . Well, I guess overall it went great, except for one minor little detail… I think he broke his big toe on one foot. He dropped a huge piece of sheet metal on it. It’s all hugely swollen, and nasty purple in color. Of course, “did you file an incident report?” “Ummmm, no”. IDIOT! So tomorrow he better be filing an incident report because if it gets infected or something we might have big problems. He told me he didn’t fill one out because he won’t be missing work for a broken toe. I just laughed at him… and said, “if it gets infected and we end up cutting off your whole leg… I think you’ll be missing LOTS of work”. In return he says, “that can really happen?” UGH MEN LOL. I guess those steel toed boots I suggested 8 years ago would have done him some good today huh? Man I’m not THAT stupid am I? LOL

New Job

Posted by razz05

K (hubby) started his new job today.  He seems to like it.  He did say that he was bored though.  Imagine that… starting a new job, and he’s bored?  Well, I guess after you’ve left a job that you were doing the work of 3-4 men… going to only doing the job of 1 man… I guess that could be boring HEHE.  He was quite pleased with his new boss (for the first day).  He sat down with him and the other manager (for the tooling part of the shop), and talked about the new machine that is coming tomorrow.  Hubby suggested a few certain “parts” to get the new machine running, and the new boss didn’t even bat an eyelash and ordered them right up.  The “parts” will make K’s life WAY easier, and he told me that if he had suggested it at his old job, they would have made him CREATE the “parts” himself to save them some money HAAAAA!  JERKIES!!!

Anywho, one of my nephews and one of my neices are spending the night.  I finally (9:45pm) just got S (3.5) and C (4.5) asleep, and now I’m attempting to get L (6) and S (9.5) to bed.  I haven’t seen my kiddos this happy in a while, and… I haven’t heard hardly any fighting today WAHOOO.  Let’s see what tomorrow brings :) .

I’m in complete SHOCK right now.

I can’t believe it. S just read the first 4 BOB Books. He’s so proud of himself, and he ought to be! He needed a little help with “the” and “and”, but he read the rest of it by himself. By the end of the 4th book he knew those 2 words easily. This kid is not even 3.5 years old yet, it just amazes me. He sees L reading (at a 3-4th grade level) and wants to be just like her. YAY, I’m so proud of my kidlets!

So far so good.

L is tolerating her medicine fairly well (so far).  The only side effect I’ve seen so far, is her wanting to eat more.  Of course, that’s a good thing.  She also slept until 9:15 this morning, that’s a first in years I think.  Maybe this is another side effect (let’s hope HEHE).  She’s usually up around 6:30/7ish, and with me working evenings and not getting home until midnight, that’s rough.

A little update on our “future plan”… FIL stopped over yesterday with the Excavator (FIL and BIL bought it a few days ago) and flattened out a spot for our shed.  He completely tore up our “lawn” but I guess it’s a step in the right direction.  Next step is to get the shed up, move the boxes out of the basement into the shed (and some of the lawn stuff too), and then hopefully once that is done FIL will be coming back over w/ the excavator to do some more work.  He’s taking it to BIL’s house to do some minor stuff there and then said he’d be back to do more when he was done there WAHOOOOO… FINALLY.

L’s 6 year checkup

Let’s see… she’s 50″ (the height of an 8 year old) = off the chart. And, she’s 47lbs (50%ile). She’s only on the 5%ile for height and weight combined, which means she’s a skinny minny. This kid can EAT though, so I can’t figure out why she’s so skinny LOL.

We MIGHT have found the culprit of the vomitting and diarrhea. They’re called http://headaches.about.com/od/migrainediseas1/a/what_abdom_mx.htm Abdominal Migraines. She’s had 14 episodes of vomitting and diarrhea since late September of 2005. Her Doctor has prescribed her Periactin http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/per1328.htm  It’s an antihistamine which is also a good thing because she seems to have some seasonal allergies (red itchy eyes, stuffy nose, etc), so hopefully it’ll kill 2 birds with one stone.  He said he doesn’t prescribe it for children that are overweight because it can cause them to eat more and possibly gain a few pounds.  In her case, she can use to put on a few pounds LOL.  I dropped the script off at the pharmacy and can’t pick it up until tomorrow (they don’t have any in stock until then), so I’ll try to let you all know how it went.  The highlight of her day was when Dr. D told her she didn’t have to get any shots WAHOO LOL.  After her appointment, we went to Friendly’s for lunch as a little treat.

Happy Anniversary

Posted by razz05

I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary and Happy Father’s Day to my hubby.  We’ve been together for 8 years, but in our weird minds we thought getting pregnant and building a house came first (HAHA).  This is our 2 year Wedding Anniversary.

I also want to say Happy Father’s Day to my Dad, my Father-in-law, and my 2 Grampas.  This could be the last father’s day for one of my Grampa’s and it’s sad.  He’s the one we lived with for 2 years while we built our house.  Yes it was difficult to live with a 70+ year old man, but I’m glad we did it.  He has this incredible bond with my daughter (we lived there for her first 1.5 years).  Every time he sees her his eyes light up as if she were his own.  Yes, he loves my son just the same, but having him with us 24/7 for the first years of her life has created a bond between them.

I’ll be sad when he goes, and I hope he can stay alot longer than I am predicting, but I’d love to see him pain free one day.  The prostate CA has moved to more parts of his body (we think).  He doesn’t want to go thru chemo and radiation (can’t say I blame him… he’s almost 80).  He’s been on hormone drugs, which initially worked great, but now they’re not working anymore and his PSA is rising again.  I stopped there yesterday to say Happy Father’s Day to him, and he was crying.  I hate to see him in pain… physical and mental (long story for another day).  Please… just let him pass peacefully, and pain free.

We’re all going to have dinner with my Dad at a little restaurant the next town over.  I’m so happy he’s back in my life.  I used to be his little “sidekick” growing up.  I went EVERYWHERE with him.  He taught me to shoot a gun when I was probably 7 or 8.  He took me deer, rabbit and turkey hunting (I bet some of you are a litttle shocked? LOL).  I’m so glad he’s “back” and my children get to enjoy the REAL him.  Thanks for everything DAD!

Whine Complain Grouch Crab

AAAAAGH that’s all I heard from my children today.  They’re so ungreatful it’s not even funny.  I realize they’re only 6 and 3.5 but COME ON ALREADY!  I heard S whine and L complain ALL DAMN DAY, I was ready to pull my hair out by the time bedtime came.  GRRR I’m tired of listening to the 2 of the fight with eachother and be so mean to eachother as well.  Tell me there’s SOMETHING I can do???  I’m so damn tired by the end of the day (this is almost daily but today was worse) I’d like to sit and get drunk and go to bed LOL (of course I DON’T do that but I’d LOVE TO).

On a good note, I got to take a ride on my Dad’s new Harley today.  We went for an hour drive, it was like heaven.  No bickering, no fighting, no listening to hubby yell at them for being crabby and grouchy… HEAVEN I say :) HEHE.

Starting Blog

Posted by razz05

Hmmm, I guess I can start blogging.  I can’t guarantee you’ll get lots of posts… but I’m willing to give it a try I guess.

Let’s see… I worked on 10 day old pictures today (photoshoot yesterday).  She’s a cutie and a friend of mine’s daughter.  I have to work today at the hospital .  I’m beginning to HATE my job.  Well… it’s not the job I hate, it’s the people I work with that I’m not fond of.  They act like little kids.

My dad is doing great… and he’s back to his old self again.  Happy, energetic (hehe), caring, etc.  I’m so glad he’s “back”.
